The Association of Film Commissions establish in 2013, June 4th in Istanbul by law Istanbul Governership and Ministry of Internal Affairs,  and  with the support and cooperation of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the various municipalities, is dedicated and determined to make the unmatched historical, natural and cultural richness of Turkey a go-to location for the international film industry. With this in mind, we look to gain the support of both individuals and companies.

In order to realize these goals, the Association of Film Commissions plans:

  • To be the first contact for foreign companies seeking to shoot film, TV, documentary and commercial content in Turkey,
  • To match Turkish and foreign production companies in order to form partnerships to realize this content,
  • To spread the word about the internationally unequalled historical, natural and cultural richness, as well as the financial advantages, of shooting in Turkey for the foreign investor,
  • To consult with and assist foreign production and investment companies regarding film permits, procedures and legalities, incentives and promotions, and technical services available,
  • To assist foreign production companies to meet and coordinate with both private and government officials,
  • To represent Turkey in the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN) and similar international film commission organizations around the world, in order to market Turkey as an ideal film location.

The main office of the Association of Film Commissions is in Istanbul, with offices located in Los Angeles, California, USA, in Mumbai India, in Antwerp Belgium, in Vien Austria, in Milano İtaly.

 

Any Turkish person or company may become a member. However, foreign individuals must hold a residence permit or have the right to obtain one in order to qualify for membership.
